BAUMA 2025
PERI at bauma 2025: Innovation, sustainability and digital solutions for the construction site of the future
Today PERI is opening the doors to its own exhibition hall at bauma 2025
Until Sunday, April 13, the formwork and scaffolding expert will be presenting its latest innovations for the construction industry at the Open- Air Area North (Stand FN 718) in Munich. With the motto 'We are shaping the future with you’, the company, together with its partners and subsidiaries, will be showcasing technologies and solutions designed to enhance safety and efficiency on construction sites worldwide.
The DUO Universal Formwork also has important innovations in store. In the future, it will also be possible for the polymer formwork to be made from biopolymer, making it even more sustainable. DUO also features new functions that not only allow for faster striking, but also at the right time. Thanks to new components, which will be on display for the first time at bauma, the DUO Universal Formwork will be able to cover even more requirements and areas of application in the future. For example, a new main beam enables early striking and use for slabs up to 30 cm thick. Another bonus point: The required number of props can also be reduced. In addition, the DUO Universal Formwork can now be combined even more intuitively with the PERI UP Scaffolding Kit. To simplify the set-up with adequate construction site safety, a new scaffold bracket adapter will be presented for the first time at bauma.
In the future, the new, transparent formlining of the DUO will make it possible to inspect the filling level and quality of the concrete directly during the shuttering process. In addition, new components for foundations can further reduce shuttering times and provide even more flexibility in the use of the universal formwork.
DUO joins the battle against COVID-19
The innovative DUO formwork system contributed to the creation of TrainerWall - the “portable” filter chamber created to protect healthcare workers from Covid 19. TrainerWall is a portable, easy to assemble filter chamber that guides the undressing of healthcare workers and reduces the risk of contagion from Covid 19. The chamber was designed by an innovative start-up of the University of Brescia Italian Technology Lab (ITL) with the collaboration of the hospital doctor Vincenzo Cennamo from Bologna.
Polytech contributed to the creation of the TrainerWall by providing the external structure made with the panels of the universal formwork DUO. Thanks to the lightness and uncomplicated assembling of the system, the chamber can be put together by 2 technicians in just 2 hours. TrainerWall can have different configurations and can thus adapt to different contexts thanks to the versatility of the use of the panels. The chamber will be useful to facilitate the undressing of hospital staff who work in Covid sub-intensive care units.
Inside the TrainerWall, healthcare personnel is guided in the undressing and correct removal of PPE (such as gloves, masks, gowns and shoes) using lights, colours, audio and other devices. Simple and intuitive instructions help the personnel to avoid procedural errors caused by tiredness at the end of the shift or by the lack of specific in-depth training. The TrainerWall therefore represents an innovative aid in the fight against Covid-19 and the containment of possible infections in healthcare environments.

SKYMAX as a highlight at Bautec Berlin fair
At the Bautec 2020 in Berlin, PERI presented innovative and practical formwork and scaffolding solutions. Large-panel slab formwork SKYMAX was one of two special highlights this year.
Bautec in Berlin is an international trade fair for building and construction technology which this this year took place on 18-21st of February. PERI presented a wide range of products, however two special highlights were COBOD 3D concrete printer and the new large-panel slab formwork SKYMAX, polymer option of which was created by Polytech. Our multi-award-winning system DUO was also present at the fair.
SKYMAX – multifunctional and safe solution
PERI SKYMAX is a new large-panel slab formwork that works as a modular system. The ability to install SKYMAX from the level below allows a particularly high level of safety at a construction site.
The multifunctional, aluminium and polymer-based SKYMAX slab formwork system offers a wide range of adaptable combination options. You will be able to combine panels, support heads and other system components in many ways.
Due to the small number of different system components, planning and using SKYMAX is extremely easy. The combination of panel and head follows a self-explanatory system. The assembly can therefore be learned quickly and without much training.
DUO used during art exhibitions
Lightweight and versatile DUO panels are being used to frame artwork during several exhibitions around Europe. The project of Christian Zott ‘’Kairos – the right moment’’ started with the first exhibition in a spectacular location – one of the most important libraries in Italy Biblioteca Nazionale Marciana in Venice, which is located on the famous San Marco square. Walls, formed completely from DUO panels, framed works of the painter Wolfgang Bertacchi and photographer Maoro Fiorese. The author of the project Christian Zott chose the first location as a challenge: Venice is a complicated place to organize exhibitions given its complicated logistical conditions: paintings and panels could arrive only by boat and subsequently be transported to the final location practically by hand. The team of the project has successfully passed the transport challenge, also thanks to the lightness and manageability of the DUO panels. Subsequently workers had a task to assemble walls from the panels which they also handled easily. According to the exhibition organisers, DUO panels were chosen due to the right balance between the stability and low weight. The exhibition in Venice took place in October 2018 and was followed by exhibitions in Hamburg (December 2018 – January 2019) and Vienna (starting from September 2019).
Concrete house was built entirely with DUO
A bold concrete structure became PERI’s first housing project in the UK. The entire house has been formed using DUO, a technopolymer plastic formwork system. The project disrupted many traditional methods of construction, making them more efficient and convenient for the workers. DUO panels were used for horizontal and vertical applications to form slabs, columns and walls. Taking into consideration the location and confined space of the structure the lightweight panels were perfect for the project. The site workers did not use a crane, instead they lifted and moved the panels around the site by hand. In addition, DUO aligned with project developer’s Adrian’s Corrigall’s vision of reducing waste during construction as all the raw material is 100% recyclable and can be reused in the production of new panels, making it a sustainable alternative. ‘'DUO works in perfect harmony with the experimental concrete mixes we are using in that both reduce labour and material costs, reduce the project’s carbon footprint and are definitive steps forward in construction methodology,” – project’s developer and house owner Adrian Corrigall told PERI UK. The DUO system also offered logistical benefits. Due to the weight of the panels, only three lorries were required to deliver material from PERI’s depot to the site. The bold concrete structure, which became a family house of Mr. Corrigall, his wife and three children was featured in multiple magazines, websites and UK TV show Grand Designs.
PERI DUO wins the prize for Product Innovation 2019
DUO has won the Federal Association of Old Building Renovation (BAKA) Product Innovation Award 2019. BAKA along with the Messe München had jointly sponsored the international competition "Old buildings practice – Prize for product innovation" under the auspices of the German Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) for the ninth time. Working in existing buildings can be challenging because of extremely confined spaces. DUO system is perfect for these situations. First of all, the system is lightweight and can be moved by hand, avoiding the usage of crane. In addition, DUO system consists of different parts which can be put together using mostly manual assembly technologies, without using a hammer, therefore avoiding noise levels which is important in residential areas.
